| Karan Nagar delegation call on Chaman, highlight problems | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18- A delegation of Karan Nagar Welfare Society, led by its President Sanjay Sharma, today called on former Union Minister and Jammu West MLA Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta at party headquarters and apprised him about several problems facing the inhabitants and sought his intervention in resolving these.
They told Prof. Gupta that there is an urgent need of pre-mixing and black topping of the road of Karan Nagar Mohalla which has been dug by the ERA for laying of pipes and is creating problems in smooth flow of vehicles besides resulting into dust, dirt and heaps of stones and mud. They also told the MLA that lights fixed in the Dogra Surya Park are not functioning properly and it becomes difficult and risky in the evening hours to visit here or take walk and asked for immediate repair/ replacement of the existing lights.
Prof. Gupta was also told that the nallah passing through the area has not been covered fully. Some portion near Central Jail, which is un-covered, is also proving risky besides a health hazard as it gives foul.
Prof. Gupta gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that he has been given mandate by the people of Jammu west Constituency and he is committed for development of every part of it and also for solving problems being faced by the people.
Karan Nagar Mohalla Welfare Society General Secretary Bhagwan Dass and members including B B Gupta, Pawan Kumar Raina, Prof. N. N. Sharma and Maheshwar Dass along with Ward Corporator Subash Jandial and Ward President Kulbhushan Vohra were among those who took up these issues with the MLA.
Pertinent to mention here that the State BJP has fixed days of the week for making available the services of each MLA to the general public and it was in this context that Prof Gupta had darbar at party headquarters and met with various delegations and individuals.
