| SIT moves sessions court for custody of Nago, brothers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18: A day after controversial business tycoons Chowdhary Nagar Singh, his brothers Rakesh and Ujjagar, father and uncles of Jatinder Singh, the main accused in Amandeep murder case surrendered before the Court and were remanded to judicial custody, the Special Investigation Team, probing murder and evidence destruction case, today moved the court for their police remand to carry out the custodial interrogation.
The Special Investigating Team constituted in the Amandeep murder case today filed an application before the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu seeking police custody of Choudhary brothers for investigation in case FIR 247/2009 registered with Police station Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
However, after hearing senior Advocate M A Goni appearing for Choudhary brothers, the Principal Sessions Judge BL Bhat adjourned the case till tomorrow for further arguments.
Earlier, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu had issued non-bailable warrants against Choudhary brothers for securing their presence in the murder case of Amandeep Singh.
Yesterday CJM Jammu declined the request for police custody and sent the Choudhary brothers to judicial lock-up till November 25, 2009 with the direction that alleged accused be produced on the said date before the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu from where the arrests warrants have been issued.
In the application filed by Superintendent of Police Mubasir Latifi seeking police custody of Choudhary brothers submitted that that SIT wanted the custody of said alleged accused for their alleged conspiracy with the suspended/police officers and recovery of original weapon which was used in the Amandeep murder case and also wanted details of Rs. 6.2 crores which was drawn during the investigation.
