| NH blocked by landslide | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18 : Vehicular movement on 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway (NH-1A) was halted today due to landslide at Nachlana area, 176 km from here, in Ramban district, police sources said.
''A big boulder has slid on the national highway blocking the road for vehicular movement'' the Police Control Room said.
Resumption of normal traffic on the highway could take some more hours as the boulder, which has blocked the road, would have to be exploded, the PCR said.
Traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the busiest and the only land communication link with the Kashmir valley, was closed due to heavy landslide last evening. Sources said about 60 light motor vehicles and over 30 trucks, which were heading towards Srinagar, were stranded since last night.
Road clearance work was underway, police added.
