| New proposal for cooperatives submitted to Centre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 19 (PTI) The Jammu & Kashmir Government has submitted a proposal, which includes granting of loans upto Rs 10 lakh to the state's cooperative societies, to the Centre in order to infuse new life in the sector, a senior minister said today.
"Measures are being taken to infuse new lease of life in the corporative movement, which has received setback during Kashmir turmoil," Minister for Cooperatives Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said at a function at Dayalachak near Kathua today.
The government has submitted the proposal under which cooperative societies would be entitled for Rs ten lakh and primary societies Rs five lakh as financial assistance.
The main objective of forming cooperatives was to transform the socio-economic and living condition of the people especially farming community and rural people, he said.
