| Indira Gandhi remembered on 93rd birthday | | | Early Times Report DODA, Nov 19-Like other parts of the state several organizations celebrated 93rd birth anniversary of late Indira Gandhi first lady Prime Minister of India . District Congress Committee Doda celebrated the birth anniversary of Gandhi at party office which was presided over by MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, DCC President. Paying floral tributes to Indira Gandhi, Gupta re- called her services for the development of the country and described her great visionary and founder of modern India. Naresh Kumar said Gandhi was tallest leader and architect of modern India. Gupta urged upon the participants to follow the path of Gandhi and serve the nation with zeal and zest. On this occasion he also garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi Among others present on the occasion were Javed Azad chairman BMC, Abdul Kabir Malik, Rajesh Kumar, Dharam Pal Dogra, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Saima Malik, Munish Kotwal and Satyia Devi. Meanwhile National Student Union of India unit Doda District also celebrated the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi at a function held under the general secretary Mohammed Sajid Malik. On this occasion NSUI activists distributed sweets among each other and threw light on the life of Indira Gandhi, the first woman prime minister of India. The NSUI activists also took out a rally in the city which culminated at College ground where it was addressed by Mohammed Sajid Malik, Dipin Kumar, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Shekha Kotwal and Taira Parveen. In another function at Doda Congress Sewa Dal also celebrated the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi. The trainees of Shivalik College of Education at a function paid rich tributes to Indira Gandhi on her birthday today. On this occasion 175 women trainees of the college raised slogans on women’s rights, women and nation building, women and society. Earlier, the trainees took part in several activities including Poster making event, Signature Campaign to promote communal Harmony, Emotional and National Integration, Essay Writing Event, and Group song events. The trainees also witnessed around two dozen movies on Communal Harmony specially procured from Ministry of Home Affairs. The documentary clips highlighted various religious, cultural, social, and aesthetic ways and means through which masses are promoting communal brotherhood in the society. The week long program was organized in collaboration with Program Coordinator NSS, University of Jammu. The prizes distribution ceremony will be held on November 21.
