JAMMU, NOV 19 – The Governor, N. N. Vohra, hosted a farewell for the Army Commander, Western Command, Lt. Gen. T. K. Sapru and the Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof. N. K. Bansal, at Raj Bhavan, here last evening.
Lt. Gen. Sapru is superannuating on November 30, 2009, and Prof. Bansal is superannuating as Vice Chancellor of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
The Governor lauded Lt. Gen. Sapru for his devoted service of over 40 years, holding various important positions. He complimented Prof. Bansal for having built the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University from scratch, in the past five years. He presented mementos to Lt. Gen. Sapru and Prof. Bansal and wished them good health and happiness in their future endeavours.The farewell dinner was attended by Justices of the High Court and senior Army, Civil and Police officers.
