Pahari peoples deputation calls on CM

A high level delegation of Pahari people led by Lokesh Kumar Sharma, General Secretary Pahari Welfare Forum J&K today met Ghulam Nabi Azad Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum highlighting the problems of the Pahari people of the state. The demands projected by Lokesh Sharma include granting of Schedule Tribe status to the Pahari people, creation of separate Directorate of Tourist and Directorate of Technical Authorities for Poonch and Rajouri Districts providing of timber, tin sheets saria and cement to the victims of Earthquake of 2005.
Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the deputationists and issued on sport instructions to the concerned authorities for remedial measures and also assured that the demand of Schedule Tribe status will be fulfilled with in the short span of time.
Others who accompanied the delegation include Shakeel Azad Gen. Secretary, Kalab Aba, M.M Dar, Manmohan Singh, Shabaz Khan, Vijay Koshar, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Surinder Singh, Rashid Mughal, Arjun Sharma, Fazal Hussain, Karam Hussain, Farooq Ahmed and Sunil Sharma.
