Winter Cup T20: Sky Riders, MR XI enter QFs

JAMMU, Nov 20: Sky Riders, MR XI today entered the quarterfinals round beating their opponent with convincing margins in the ongoing Winter Cup Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament underway at MA Stadium, here.
In the first match, MR XI trounced Doda XI by a hefty margin of 90 runs. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, MR XI made 146 runs for the loss of six wickets, which, in reply, Doda XI could not chase and bowled out for 56 runs.

Bunty was top scorer with 39 runs, followed by Ajay 37 and Rajesh 13 runs on the board. From Doda XI, Nasir clinched two wickets while Mubassir and Abu Harara shared apiece each.
Batting second, Doda XI could not chase the total and bowled out for 56 runs. Umar Irfan and Shahbaz were main scorers with 20 and 16 runs respectively. Ajay Slathia destroyed the Doda batting line with five wickets haul. Sunil bagged two and Sanjay one.
For his match winning spell, Ajay was declared man of the match.
Sky Riders beat WCC by 6 wkts: Sky Riders registered a fine six wickets win over Whites Cricket Club (WCC) today. Earlier, Sky Riders won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, WCC made 120 runs losing all their wickets, which, Sky Riders chased losing only four wickets. Rohit was highest scorer from Whites Club with 38 runs while Rakesh Koul contributed 20 runs. Sammy was most successful bowler from Sky Riders with three wickets. Ashu took two and Sahil one wicket.

Later, Sky Riders overhauled the WCC total making 121 runs for the loss of four wickets. Sahil Bhawal played superb innings of 58 runs off 48 deliveries while Sanjay added valuable 17 off 16 balls. From WCC, Ravi Pandita clinched two wickets while Vivek Singh and Rajiv Pandita shared apiece each.
For his match winning knock of 58 runs, Sahil was declared man of the match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Deepak Fotedar, Abid Hussain, Rajesh Bhat, Mohil Bhat and Ashu.
