| CA&PD squad raids rice & flour mills | | |

JAMMU, Nov 20: The CA&PD squad of Directorate of CA&PD Jammu yesterday conducted raids on the rice mills and flour mills in Jammu district under the provision of Essential Commodities Act 1955 and booked and challaned Vaishno Rice & General Mill, Shourya Mill, Bansi Lal & Co. Rice Mill, Jay Durga Mill, J.N. Rice Mill, Guru Nanak rice Mill, Divya Rice Mill, Rakesh Rice General Mill, Amar Rice Mill, Ramesh Rice Mill, Asha Rice & General Mill and KL Flour Mill at Kotli, under the violations of various observations like non-display of prices and non-display of stocks etc.
Besides the Enforcement Officers and Assistant Director of CA&PD also challaned 13 defaulters and realized a fine of Rs. 5300 from them this week.
The Directorate of CA&PD shall initiate action against the defaulters under the provisions of Price Display Order 1980. The department has been repeatedly informing the trades that non-display of approved price list/ non-display of stocks a serious offence.
