| 3- Stadiums coming up in Samba :Chib | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 20: Present Government is committed to develop sports infrastructure in the State, as sports are of paramount importance in developing the overall personality of the youth Chib announced that Rs. 50,000, each, will be expended for developing sports stadium at Samba, Gura Slathia and Smail Pur during current financial year stated Minister of Youth services and Sports and additional charge of Medical Education RS Chib. The Minister also said that sports infrastructure will be developed at Panchayat and Block levels in the State, adding that 14 blocks including 7, each from the Jammu and Kashmir provinces have been identified for the purpose during the current fiscal. Emphasizing on promoting extra-curricular activities in educational institutions, the Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik, said that students of J&K have ample sports talent, which needs to be harnessed producing sports persons who can compete at National and International levels. The Minister said this while felicitating the students of Bhargava Degree College, who brought laurels to the State in Junior Asian Judo and Junior National Kick Boxing championship at Samba today. . Malik, lauded the performance of the students and said that education is the biggest source which fulfills the needs of body, mind and spirit observing that only a sound body can have a sound mind. He said that 19 year old Nippu Jamwal, who has won gold medal in Asian Junior Judo championship in which 20 countries participated and Aman Sambyal who won the silver medal in Junior National Kick-boxing championship, have made the State proud. The Minister emphasized that the potential of the students needs to be identified and facilities provided to them to excel in their respective fields. He also enjoined upon the parents to bring up their children in such a way that they excel in various fields available to them in the present era. Among others, MLA, Samba, Mr. Yashpal Kundal, Principal Secretary Higher Education, Mr. Pramod Jain, Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Laharwal, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Sourav Bhagat, Director Colleges, Principal Government Degree College, Samba, Prof. Ajeet Angral and Chairman Bhargawa College of Education were present during the felicitation occasion.
