NHRC asks state and centre to submit details of PM’s Package within 6 weeks

Jammu, Nov 20: Senior KP Leaders of Delhi which include Kundan Kashmiri, C.L Gadoo, Dr Ramesh Raina, Nancy Koul & others approached National Human Rights Commission at New Delhi on Nov 19 and highlighted various burning issues faced by the displaced KP’s & rejected conditional PM’s package
According to a press statement issued by the organization full bench of the Commission directed the State & Center Govt. through their lawyers & representatives present in the court of NHRC to submit the complete details of PM’s Package within six weeks of time mentioning whether these package benefits to be provided to those displaced also who will not be willing to go back or serve in the valley for security and other reasons. Commission also directed to Govt. to submit the report regarding the no. of the migrants who are been provided service & relief & other benefits by the State Govt. Commission also directed KP Leaders present in the court to submit the consolidated list of the properties occupied & encroached by the miscreants in the valley.
Earlier Kundan Kashmiri & others were pleading the various issues of displaced KP’s before the full bench of NHRC stated that under prevailing situation as well as security & other reasons the majority no. of displaced KP’s are not in a position to return the valley at present, hence the PM’s package could not be in general implemented for providing the benefits of the said package. KP Leaders appealed the Commission that benefits of the said PM’s package to be given to all displaced families whether they return the valley or not.
They also pleaded that distress sale to be declared null & wide & distress sale act to be implemented as per the legislation passed by J& K State Govt. in this regard and demanded vacation of immovable properties occupied & encroached by the miscreants.
Some other cases related to release of long pending salaries to displaced KP employees & others were also brought before the Hon’ble Commission for redressal by the KP Leaders. Next Date of hearing has been fixed on Jan 6, 2010.
Sahar Wardhy advocate of J&K Govt., Kalra, Joint Secretary Home, New Delhi, Majid, Ad. Residential Commission, Delhi & others were present before the Commission.
