| Natrang makes entry in Uttrakhand | | Stages Sumeet Sharma’s play ‘Mind Games’ | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 20: Natrang achieved yet another milestone by making it to the newly created state Uttarakhand in their first ever National Theatre Festival when it presented the play 'Mind Games' written and directed by Sumeet Sharma in 'JASAN-E-VIRASAT' -a National Theater Festival at Srinagar, Garhwal.. The show was staged in the auditorium of Garhwal University. The University is hosting a five day National Theatre festival which started on November, 18, 2009. . The Natrang show was the main highlight of the event where plays from all over India are being featured. Sumeet Sharma, the director of the play has been recently awarded this year’s Sangeet Natak Akademi Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for direction in Theatre and is constantly working on the concept of Theatre as a tool of learning & personality development. Mr. Balwant Thakur, Director Natrang complemented the young team for the milestone achievement and informed that Natrang has started new training workshops for young aspirants to chisel & hone their talents The play Mind Games unveils a very common, unconscious and continuous practice of all human beings, Chatting with Mind and creating baseless abstract stories all the times, which give rise to thoughts which when nurtured become attitude and eventually shape our behavior and personality causing success or failure. The play revolves around a character Ajeet, who represents the mind model of a contemporary man whose rejections, anxiety, likes, dislikes, passions, reasons, fears, emotions, fantasies, dreams, etc. have a lot to share with all of us. The absurd thoughts which he develops create humor but unknowingly we are laughing at our own habits and shortsightedness while laughing at him. The three personalities; what we are, what we think we are and what we think we should be are revealed in the play. Sumeet Sharma as ‘Ajeet’ impressed once and all with his performance reflecting the minute histrionics, he was equally supported by Gaurav Jamwal as ‘Krish’, Mohit Sharma as ‘Boss’, Sona Mehar as ‘Simran’ and ‘Rahul Singh as ‘Kumar’. Others who supported the performance by their laudable acting include Rohit Verma, Mohd.Yaseen, Roohi Singh, Charanjeet Bhardwaj , Ashutosh Kohli, Pratibha Heer, Basnet Romilla & Rajni Bhatti. Lights were designed by Suraj Ganjoo, Aarushi Thakur designed the costumes of the play.
