Anganwari workers hold protest demonstration, seek regularization

POONCH OCT-04 The Anganwari Workers and Helpers under the aegis of Joint Action Committee held a massive demonstration at Pritam Park here today to lodge protest against the callous and indifferent attitude of the Government towards their legitimate demands including their regularization and enhancement in wages.
The protesting workers also took out a procession, which culminated at Deputy Commissioner’s office after passing through the main bazaars and raised slogans in support of their demands. The agitating workers have threatened to intensify the stir if he government did not accept their demands.
Expressing serious concern over the plight of the Anganwari workers and helpers, several Joint Action Committee leaders including Duslynat Choudhary, Fiaz Akber Chowan, Mohammed Nazir Moughak and Amrik Singh urged the government to immediately concede the demands of the protesting workers who have been working for the last over a decade . They also demanded release of salary to those workers who were selected by the committee constituted for the purpose. .
