Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 21- Serving 15 days ultimatum to the state Government for referring the murder case of Rajneesh, Mahila Samrakshan Samiti, (MSS) Jammu and Kashmir, a social organization today warned to offer bangles to the State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on December 5 next month. ‘Terming the magisterial inquiry ordered by the government mere an eye wash, the Samiti demanded referring of Rajneesh murder case to CBI.

This was disclosed by Mahila Samrakshan Samiti Core Committee Member Sushila Abrol, Sushma Sharma, Shakuntla Devi and Anuradha Charak while addressing media persons here today.

Charging the State government of deliberately taking no action in the matter as the youth killed in police custody at Srinagar belonged to Jammu, the members said, “Had the same happened with some one from Valley, quick effective and stern action would have been taken and the guilty police officers put behind bars”, they pointed out.

‘Although high claims of equal treatment with all the regions-Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh-are made, but in practice discrimination is perpetuated against the people and regions of Jammu and Ladakh’, they alleged.

“Since no action has been taken by the State Government so far in Rajneesh murder case, we have announced the launching of signature campaigns in the coming days in Jammu district to garner public support against delay in delivering justice and punishing the guilty in the matter which will be followed by vigorous protest if no action would be taken from Government side”, the members informed.

The committee members informed that they have already submitted a detailed memorandum to state ministers including Surjeet Singh Slathia and Raman Bhalla and others.

It is to mention that Rajneesh was tortured to death in Ram Bagh Police Station, Srinagar as he had married a Muslim girl.
