| DYSS contingent leaves for School Games today | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: A 148-member strong contingent, comprised of both boys and girls shall be leaving for Punjab to take part in the 55th National School Games under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) here tomorrow. To be held at two different venues of Jallandhar and Amritsar, the six-day competition in four events of athletics, hockey, handball and basketball shall resume from November 23. “While the athletics meet in boys and girls all age groups shall take place at Amritsar, other three events of hockey, handball and basketball (boys and girls under-17) shall be conducted by the Department of Sports, Punjab at Jallandhar,” Deputy Director DYSS (Activities), S S Bali told SAN. The strong contingent is being escorted by a group of 14 officials under the overall supervision of lecturer physical education, Balbir Singh. “As per the schedule of programme, a copy of which has been delivered to us, the mega event shall be declared open by the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal,” informed the Deputy Director.
