| NGO debates violence against women in Udhampur | | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur, Nov 22- Indian Democratic Human Rights Organization and Social Reforms and Charitable Organization (SRCO) NGO’S organized an awareness campaign against the violence on women in Udhampur, which was attended by prominent women from different walks of life. Vice Chairman SRCO Parvesh Kumar Parihar and IDHRO Chairman Sarita Parihar while speaking on the occasion said, the aim and objective of organizing such program is to raise general awareness about the increasing social crime against the woman. They said that are registered organizations and has already run several programs under various scheme for the betterment and upliftment of women community and said that today’s awareness campaign has been organized not only to discuss various problems faced by the women community, but the domestic violence faced by them. On this occasion a committee of women has been constituted to fight against the increasing social crime .Newly elected committee president Poonam Bakshi said they will raise certain issues before the government and fight for their implementation with in the society which includes, fight against domestic violence against women, establishment of women police station at Udhampur , creation of women grievances cell in all tehsils of the District , fight for menace of Dowry, liquor, sexual harassments against female in government and private offices, against child marriages and several other issues. She urged upon the woman community of the Udhampur to come forward and strengthen the hands of her organization so as to curb the increasing violence against the women. She said that the menace of dowry has ruined the life of several women’s and stressed that they spread the massage of simple marriages with in the society. Others who took part in the awareness campaign were Reema Arora, Seema Devi, Kanchan Devi, Namrata,Renu and Darshana Devi. |
