Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 22- While addressing party workers on the eve of National Integration Week, coinciding with 92nd birthday of former Prime Minister, late India Gandhi, Brij Mohan Sharma President District Urban Congress gave a clarion call to the party workers and the general masses to emulate the charismatic leader and his characteristic life-style. He further called for treading upon the path shown by the lady who was not only an outstanding leader but a visionary, karamyogi and a globalist par excellence. He recalled the contribution of the great leader in heralding Green Revolution in the country hit by food-deficit, recording thumping victory of India in 1971 war and for being the only Indian premier to become president of international conglomerate of 135 Non-Aligned countries. He also appreciated her historic pacts on the burning Kashmir issue – Shimla Pact with Pakistan premier, Z.A. Bhutto, and other India-Sheikh accord of 1975 and further called for making both of these accords as the very basis of resolving Kashmir issue. He said her policy on agriculture, economy, defense and foreign affairs is more relevant in today’s India and should be made as the very benchmark of U.P.A.-II’s working-style. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion throwing light on different facets of life of the great leader included Rakesh Chander, District Youth Congress President, Sachin Sharma Distt.
