JAMMU, NOV 22: Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia has said that Government is taking keen interest to provide all basic amenities to people of the state including road connectivity, drinking water, educational institutions, electricity, health etc. facilities at their doorsteps.
He said that for this purpose the Centre and State Governments have provided liberal funding so that the ongoing works would be completed within stipulated timeframe. He said that hundreds of villages have been connected with nearest towns and cities by providing networks of roads in the state.
A large number of people of Birpur met the Minister and projected problems being faced by them including construction of park near Data Ranpat Devsathan Birpur, road widening from National Highway to Devsathan, installation of solar lights in and around the Devsathan, maintenance of bathing ghat, construction of Community Hall and Women Sanitary Complex under Total Sanitation Campaign.
He gave patient hearing to them and most of their problems were solved on-the-spot and remaining referred to concerned departments for early redressal in a phased manner.
Regarding construction of Community Hall in Data Ranpat Devsathan Birpur, he asked the concerned authorities to prepare the estimate and submit for funding so that the construction work could be start soon. He asked the PHE, PDD, RDD and R&B authorities to complete the ongoing development works in the Devsathan within stipulated time frame for the benefit of people. He said Government is planning to declare Birpur town as a Tourist Village for its integrated development programme.
Mr. Slathia also paid obeisance in Data Ranpat Devsathan Birpur and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state. |
