| Probe ordered in Engineer’s moneybag | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Nov 22: Works Minister GM Saroori today said that an inquiry has been ordered through Divisional Commissioner Jammu to probe conduct of an Engineers who was caught with Rs 16 lakhs.
At a press conference here while replying to a question regarding withdrawal of huge amount of Rs. 16 lakh by an engineer, Saroori said that no clemency would be given to those wilfully violating Government instructions and orders. “ I have ordered withdrawing of drawing and disbursing powers of the concerned engineers” the Minister informed, adding that the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu has been asked to get the matter thoroughly inquired so that responsibility is fixed accordingly. Mr. Saroori instructed engineers, in clear terms, to make the payment to the contractors through payees account cheques only, not by cash and warned that violators will have to face the consequences. |
