| Govt reiterates ban on Inter-cadre transfers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 23: Already caught in the politics of inter-district recruitments, the government has put a blanket ban on inter-district and inter-divisional transfers and postings of officials. Details have also been sought from all administrative departments on the number of such transfers made so far along with the reasons in individual case.
Sources said that this circular was issued by the government after a thorough examination of the matter following complaints that candidates obtaining jobs on the district or divisional cadre posts were later managing transfers to their home districts or divisions through influence or other means. It was therefore decided to ban all inter-district and inter-division transfers and postings.
An order to this effect was issued by the General Administration Department today. The circular number 48 of GAD issued on November 23 said, attention of all administrative secretaries is drawn to provisions contained in SRO 343 of 2004 whereunder it has been envisaged that a member of state/divisional/district cadre will be transferable only within his/her own cadre and in no case be transferred from one cadre to another cadre post”. The circular further said, “it is again enjoined upon all the administrative secretaries to adhere to the provisions of SRO 343 and not issue any such transfer posting orders”. The circular further asked the administrative secretaries to furnish information about all such transfers and postings to the General Administration Department along with reasons. |
