| Tara Chand vows to build Katra bus stand and pilgrims’ facilities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, NOV 24: “Development of entire Katra in order to provide all facilities to the pilgrims visiting holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and people of the area are the highest priority of the Government that is said to build necessary infrastructure to cater to the need”, said the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand while chairing a high level meeting of officers here in the Civil Secretariat today. The land acquisition case for the Development of Bus Stand in the Katra was also discussed in the meeting.The meeting among others was attended by Commissioner Housing Mr. Abdul Hamid, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Mr. P.K. Pole, Director Information and Public Relations Khawaja Farooq Renzu, Director Local Bodies Jammu,Mr. Khurshied Ahmed, Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qurishi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shri Mata Devi Shrine Board Mr. Virender Slathia and others. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Housing as well as Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Director Local Bodies Jammu, Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Director Tourism, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shri Mata Devi Shrine Board informed the Deputy Chief Minister that section 4 stands issued for 423 local kanals of land strictly as per Master Plan and also the effected persons have been given chance under the section 4 to file their objections. The Deputy Chief Minister constituted a committee headed by Divisional ommissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal comprising of Deputy Commissioner, Reasi (Member Secretary), Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu, Director Tourism Jammu, Chief Architect J&K and Chief Town Planner, Jammu. He directed the Committee to address all the genuine problems of the people of the local area and ensure that the bottlenecks in way of Development of Bus Stand are smoothly cleared and process of acquisition of land is expedited. He said that every year more than 75 lakh pilgrims are visiting the holly shrine of Shri Mata Devi, therefore it is responsibility of the Government to Develop rich infrastructure there. The Deputy Chief Minister directed the committee to identify the land grabbers involved in the case as alleged by MLA concerned so that appropriate action against such land grabbers is initiated.
