Slathia announces Rs 60 lac for Samyalpur dev

Jammu Nov 25- Government has approved Rs. 60 lakh for undertaking different development works in Samyalpur area of Samba district

This was announced by the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Slathia today during his visit to Samyalpur to take stock of the developmental works.

Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Sourbh Bhaghat and senior officers of different departments accompanied the Minister.

During the visit, a large number of people met the minister and apprised him about their problems regarding roads, electricity, drinking water etc. They demanded construction of community hall and setting up of veterinary hospital in the area.

Reiterating the Government’s commitment to equitable development of all regions of the State, the Minister sanctioned Rs. 25 lakhs out of his Constituency Development Fund for construction of road from Samyalpur to Badoori. The work on this road shall be started soon, he said. He also announced Rs. 25 lacs for construction of the playing field in the village for the benefit of local youth.

Mr. Slathia said that improved road connectivity and drainage facility in the interior area of the districts is the topmost priority of the Government. In this connection, he announced Rs. 10 lakh for undertaking repairs and construction of lanes and drains in the area and blacktopping of the roads.

He directed all the concerned officers to look into the problems of the people and mitigate them on priority. Mr. Slathia said that Government is committed to provide all the basic amenities to the people living in Samyalpur. He said that distribution of ration cards will be completed upto December 10 and before their distribution, a camp will be organized in the area.

Earlier the minister distributed cheques worth Rs. 1.75 lakh under Indra Awas Youjna among five beneficiaries of Bazigar community at Baribrahamna.

The Minister assured the people that the matter of establishing Veterinary Hospital and Community Hall at Samyalpur will be taken up with the concerned ministries.
