| DGP visits district Headquarters | | Khoda lauds police for averting damages during operations | | Early Times Report Jammu November, 25: The Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda today said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to provide fearless environment to the people of the State and appreciated the role of all ranks of the force for curbing militancy and safeguarding the rights of law abiding citizens of the State.
Mr. Khoda was addressing the officers and jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Police during his visit to Doda, Kishtwar and Reasi districts.
Addressing maiden durbars of jawans and officers at these places, the DGP said that the strategy adopted to fight militancy at different fronts has yielded good results and during the recent operations many self-styled commanders and militants of different outfits have been eliminated.
Lauding the role of jawans for avoiding collateral damages, he said that during anti-militancy operations they have also maintained high standards in maintaining human rights. He said that people have pinned their hopes with the police and now it is “our responsibility to keep their trust by providing them better policing”.
The DGP said that the police personnel with their good reputation and performance in conducting the operations and providing better professional service to the people of the State would be appreciated at all levels. He said that people, who suffered a lot during 20 years of turmoil, are partners in the fight against militancy and police has to uphold better relations with the public.
“We are fully aware about the situation in which our jawans and officers are working”. Mr. Khoda said, adding that welfare of jawans and officers is top on agenda and during the current year, over Rs. 8 crore have been spent under various schemes for welfare of jawans.
