| Legislators appreciate Omar for free air service to stranded passengers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25 – Legislators, Mr. Feroz Ahmed Khan and Syed Ahmed Rizvi have expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah for the Government’s historic gesture of providing free air service to the stranded passengers in Leh and Kargil and relieving them of the difficulties they were put in by the untimely closure of Srinagar-Kargil National Highway.
In a statement issued by them here today the Legislators have mentioned that operation of IL-76 cargo aircraft to ferry passengers free of cost on the behest of Chief Minister is most laudable timely action of the government. They also appreciated the role of CAPD Minister, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon in restoring the traffic on Srinagar-Kargil national highway to clear the stranded vehicles facilitating the people to reach their destinations in Kargil and Srinagar.
The Legislators have also praised the efforts of Kashmir Divisional Administration and Beacon authorities for working round the clock on war footing to clear the national highway and providing necessary facilities to the stranded passengers.
