| BSF School organise heritage tour to Krimchi | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, NOV 25: On the concluding day of the Heritage Week, BSF School, Paloura organised a heritage tour to historic place Krimchi having group of ancient temples.
Nearly 20 students of the school accompanied by Drawing teacher of the school Chander Shekhar Sharma took part in the tour during which they were told about the importance of the heritage and the need to preserve it. On the way to Krimchi, 67 km from Jammu towards North, the students were told about the importance of other places of heritage value on the way, Kol Kandoli temple, Ban Talab and Nadni Wildlife Sanctuary .
At Krimchi the students put the impressions of the place on the canvass. They were guided by their teacher Chander Shekhar about how to sketch and the techniques to click the camera to take photographs of such places of heritage importance.
The motive behind the heritage our to Krimchi was to aware the students regarding importance of heritage by which a society is known. Krimchi is known for its group of temples belonging to 8th-9th Century AD contemporary o the Lngraja temple of Bhubneshar in Orissa. Krimchi lies about 12 km north of Udhampur on Udhampu-Landher road.
The complex consists of five temples and two small shrines. His Valey amidst green mountains is located at an elevation of 730 mtrs about mean sea level. The local tradition has it that in the past it was a halting place on Jammu-Srinagar route hrough banihal. According to legends King Kechak of Maharata age got build these temples. The tour was organised under the guidance of principal of BSF School, S S Khokhar.
