| Signature campaign continues to seek justice for ‘Anchal’ | | | Early Times Report Jammu Nov 25 The campaign of Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti (MSS) for bringing to book the perpetuators of custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma entered its fourth day. The signature campaign launched by the samiti in support of its demand has garnered more than ten thousand signatures so far. Core Committee Member Priya Sethi, on this occasion, said that the law of the land permits any adult male or female to marry any one of his or her choice. She said a Jammu boy Rajneesh Sharma also did no crime when he married a Muslim girl from Srinagar. But the Srinagar police, in connivance with Jammu police, illegally picked him from Jammu and brutally tortured which resulted into his death. The Srinagar police killed Jammu boy but the government yet has failed to take any action even after passing of one and half month. Addressing supporters of the samiti and general public Shilpi Verma, member of the core committee, said the silence of self proclaimed sentinels of human rights, the so-called rights activists on the custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma by police personnel of Tulsi Bagh Police Station, Srinagar, reveals their double standards. She said that the Samiti will not rest till the guilty personnel are not punished for the dastardly murder of youth whose only fault was that he married a girl from a different community. Usha Choudhary, Anuradha Charak, Mamta Singh, Sushila Jamwal, Pushpa Wazir, Sureshta Jamwal, Sushma Sharma and Vidya Devi also briefed the people about the signature campaign.
