| Renu Nanda awarded with "National Values Award" | | | NEW DELHI Nov 25 Renowned educationist and social worker from Jammu and Kashmir Dr Renu Nanda has been awarded with 'National Values Award" in recognition to her services especially working for the under privileged children in the region. The award was initiated by Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister in November 2005 and has been conferred for the first time to those who have worked with a missionary zeal to build the India of their dreams with values. For dedication and devotion in inculcating 'National Values' among children, Dr Renu Nanda was awarded National Values Award 2009 in a ceremony held here recently at National Bal Bhavan by Kapil Sibal, Minister for Human Resources Development, Government of India.The award carried a citation, a plaque and a cheque of Rs 10,000. Dr Renu Nanda is associated with National Bal Bhavan which is a creativity resource centre for children whose foundation was laid by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru in 1956 and later the branches spread all over the country, since 1988.
