| Academic Staff College, JU, organizes workshop for college Principals | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 25-Academic Staff College, University of Jammu organized one day workshop for college principals of Jammu region on the topic, “Budget and Financial Procedures.’ The workshop was formally inaugurated by Parmod Jain Commissioner Secretary Higher Education J&K. Addressing the College Principals Jain underlined need for such workshops so that the Principals can discharge their administrative duties in a more efficient manner. He also called upon the principals to follow all laid down norms and procedures while making presentations and requisitions about financial matters. Prof Rajiv Gupta Director College Development, speaking on the occasion highlighted various financial schemes initiated by UGC for colleges and briefly dwelt on the various new initiatives that the University of Jammu would be undertaking in this regard in the near future. Prof Neelu Rohmetra Director, The Business School stressed upon the need to develop better managerial and financial skills among academic administrators in order to streamline budgetary planning and implementation. Prof IV Malhan Director ASC, Prof ND Wani Director Colleges, Dr PS Pathania Registrar JU and Ranjeet Kalra Assistant Prof Academic Staff College also spoke on the occasion. Lochan Dass Principal Accountancy Institute of State, Prof Ashok Aima Dean Management Studies JU and Dr Ameesha Gupta acted as resource persons for the workshop and delivered lectures to the participating college Principals on various topics covering finance and budget procedures.
