| European Ambassadors discuss situation, self rule with Mufti | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 25- A delegation of the diplomats of the European Union countries called on PDP Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed here last evening. The meeting over dinner lasted for more than two hours during which matters of common interest were discussed. The five member delegation of diplomats was led by the Ambassador of Sweden Lars –Olof Lindgren and included Ambassador of Belgium Jean M. Deboutte, Oscar Schlyter second Secretary of Sweden and Daniele Smadja Ambassador of European Union. Senior party leader Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari also participated in the discussions. The current situation in the state came up for discussions and Mufti gave the delegation his impressions about the need for an inclusive dialogue to resolve Kashmir issue on a permanent basis. He told the Ambassadors that while political and law and order situation in the state was improving, he expected government of India to initiate a credible, sustained and result oriented dialogue process with Pakistan and with political elements within the state. The Ambassadors evinced keen interest in the party’s self Rule formula and received a detailed briefing on its various features. They were also provided with the copies of the Self Rule document.. The Ambassadors shared with Mufti the information about the EU economic and developmental interventions which are currently being executed in the state. Health and education sector came up for a specific mention.
