Jammu, Nov 26- Holding Mohammed Ali Jinnah responsible for the painful division of India, BJP legislators’ party leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has said that the follies and blunders of the power crazy Congress leadership were no less guilty.
Interacting with a group of displaced persons from Mirpur and other Pak held areas here today, Prof Gupta said that these very power crazy leaders who pampered certain communal elements in Kashmir neither allowed the Indian troops to fully liberate the enemy held areas of Jammu and Kashmir nor treated this state like other parts of the country.
‘November 25 is a most sad day of the history of mankind when about twenty thousand children, men and women were done to death by the marauders sponsored by the theoretic State of Pakistan in 1947, at Mirpur, a City of Pakistan occupied Kashmir’, he said. But it was a matter of deep look that why the reinforcement was not sent to the small posse of the Maharaja’s force fighting the invaders along with the local nationalists to save their honour and pride although the Accession of Jammu and Kashmir was legally completed on October 26, when the Instrument of Accession was signed and the Indian Army has reached at Srinagar the very next day i.e. October 27, he pointed out.
Prof. Gupta pointed out that those who are talking about converting LoC in a border with Pakistan, should know that they are under oath of the Indian Constitution by virtue of which the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and the Parliament of this country has adopted a unanimous resolution for defending this entire State as part of the country. And those who are talking loose, they are flouting the Constitution and its oath, he maintained.
The BJP leader said the so-called Kashmir problem is the bundle of follies and wrongs committed by the Congress leadership and they have not learnt a lesson even now as they still continue to fiddle with their own created problems but for communal and other considerations.
He questioned that if the Indian Constitution can be useful for the rest of India, why the elements raising slogans for Autonomy, Self Rule and Azadi are not being made it clear to understand that enough is enough and the country is not in a position for any more communal division.
The activists of the displaced people, in their meeting with Prof. Gupta, complained that till date the claims of their priorities left behind in Pak-held areas were not registered and final rehabilitation was taken up on the plea that the enemy held areas would be liberated and these migrants would be settled back in their respective areas but strangely enough certain ruling and other leaders are now talking about converting the Line of Control into a permanent border with Pakistan. The city of Mirpur has drowned because of construction of huge Mangla Dam by Pakistan. A new Mirpur has been raised some 6 Kms from the old submerged city and almost all the inhabitants are new ones, mostly Punjabis and Afghanis, the displaced people said. |
