| CDC-JU organizes workshop for College Principals | | |

Jammu, Nov 26- A workshop for Principals of Government and Non Government Colleges, affiliated with University of Jammu, was organized by the College Development Council on connectivity to colleges under National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT).
K. Sri. Krishana DGM, BSNL who was the key speaker made a Power Point Presentation and explained in detail the operational aspects of the scheme.
Prof. Rajive Gupta, Director College Development Council dwelt in detail about the objectives of the NMEICT under which 419 Universities and 20,000 colleges will be interlinked to provide National Knowledge Net Work (NKN). Under the scheme, forty two colleges of Jammu would be provided ten connections of 512 Kbps VPN over Broad Band for unlimited use in the first phase.
Prof. Gupta further stated that the scheme, when implemented, would immensely benefit the hitherto inaccessible areas with regard to ICT usefulness and would thus narrow the rural urban divide. Besides Principals of the Colleges the workshop was attended by Prof. Devanand, Amit Gupta, R.S. Dalpatia, Vinay Thusoo, Karnail Singh and Nidhi Vaid.
