| IBM Software Center of Excellence launched in Jammu at MIET | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 26
IBM has launched a Software Center of Excellence at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu with the aim of providing world class skills to students on IBM technologies.
Referring to the collaboration Prof Ankur Gupta, Joint Director, MIET said, “We are glad that IBM has chosen our college to set up the COE as we are sure it will greatly benefit the students of MIET who often do not get exposure to the corporate sector.”
Maj. Gen (Retd.) Prof. S.K Sharma, Principal, MIET said, “ The COE will help in meeting the industrial training requirements for the students and the professional certifications obtained by the students shall help them immensely in succeeding in the competitive job market.”
Dr Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions lauded the proactive role that IBM is playing in reaching out to the students across the country with much needed academic initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Himanshu Goyal, Country Manager - Academic Initiative, Developer Works & Globalization, IBM India/South Asia said, “We hope that the COE at MIET enables the students in J&K on the requisite IT skills and makes them market ready. We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Prof. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER Group and Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director, MIER.
