POONCH, NOV 27: Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Jammu conducted inspections of shopkeepers dealing with karyana, meat shop, vegetables and other eatables in the areas of Narwal, Bhatindi, Satwari, Malik Market, R. S Pura, Samba, Bari-Brahmana and adjoining areas under the provisions of J&K Weights and Measures (Enf) Act and Packaged Commodities Rules.
About 63 traders were detected violating the provisions of the Act and Rules. The Assistant Controller compounded 57 challans on the spot and realized composition of Rs.30200 form these erring shopkeepers.
The Assistant Controller also issued warnings to 20 Karyana and meat sellers fro the offence of not displaying rate list conspicuously in their trading premises and directed them to remain careful in future.
