| Doctors performance to be audited: Sham | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, NOVEMBER 27 – During his surprise visit to Community Health Centre , Sohanjana near here this morning, Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma directed the Block Medical Officer and his staff to take extra care in the upkeep of the hospital with special thrust on sanitation and provision of various facilities to the patients.
The Minister also asked the Medicos and para-medics to adhere to the dress code and adopt professional approach towards patients, who come to hospitals with great expectations.
Sham Lal said that the Government has introduced new para-meters to gauge the performance of individual doctors and a special monthly professional audit report will be prepared to improve the work culture in the health institutions. These reports, he said will be monitored by the higher authorities for appropriate corrective measures. He said the Government is making all out efforts to improve the health infrastructure and working conditions in the hospitals and expects best services from the medical fraternity. He said no laxity, whatsoever on the part of doctors or para-medical staff, will be tolerated and officials will have to mend their ways to improve the performance on ground.
Minister interacted with the locals and obtained feedback about the functioning of the hospital. He asked the prominent persons of the area to personally monitor the situation to improve the attendance of the staff. He asked them to provide him necessary feedback over telephone so that necessary steps could be taken to further streamline functioning of the institution.
Earlier, the Minister paid floral tributes to Jammu’s great leader, Pt. Girdhari Lal Dogra, at his statute near Jammu University on the occasion of his death anniversary. He described Pt. Dogra as a stalwart of Jammu who, strived hard for the development of this region. He recalled the contribution of Panditji in progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
