Koul reviews progress on implementation of Mid Day meal project

Jammu, Nov 27- Lauding the role of Shirya Bhatt Mission Hospital in successfully running the mid day meal project in Shanti Niketan School Purkhoo, Moti Koul Vice Chairman of the Trust and President All India Kashmiri Samaj has said the situation in the camps has not improved despite 20 years of migration.

Accompanied by Omkar Bhat in-charge Mid Day meal project, R.K.Pandita Manager, Sudehs Dhar Social scientist, Roop K. Koul Principal Government Higher Secondary School Muthi and eminent writer Aadersh Ajit, Moti Kaul reviewed the progress on the mid day meal project at a meeting here today.

Earlier, on his visit the School and the camp inmates organized a colorful program. Koul also distributed mementoes to the toppers of all the classes of the school and appreciated the role of teachers and parents who even after such hardship have maintained the merit of their wards.

Koul lauded the role of Mission hospital and its missionaries under the leadership of Dr. K.L.Chowdhury. At the same time he showed his own concern and donated a Diesel Generator to the School. He said that it is very unfortunate that even after 20 years of displacement the camp is lacking its basic amenities. Even the leading international NGOs like Amnesty International have never bothered to address the problems of camps who are the worst victims of terrorism. He said that Government of India is running many child development schemes particularly for girl child but they too have shown their step motherly approach towards the displaced children. He informed that in future he will use his good offices and will bring some NGOs which will work for the betterment of the camp children.

Earlier, Vir Ji Bhat Gen. Secretary of the Trust threw light on various projects of the trust and appealed the community members and others, who believe in charity, to come forward. He informed that the trust will also provide some sports kits/goods to the camp children.
