Court granted bail to Guru involved in kidnap, rape

Jammu, Nov 27- Principal Sessions Judge Jammu BL Bhat today granted bail to Narinder Pal alias Guru, involved in a rape and kidnapping case.

After hearing Advocate Umesh Sharma appearing for the petitioner and Public Prosecutor Shabir Ahmed appearing for the state and going through the contents of the case, the Judge allowed the bail application and admitted the petitioner to bail. The Court, however, ordered that the petitioner shall be released from judicial custody on furnishing surety and personal bonds to the tune of Rs 30,000 each.

According to the prosecution case accused Narinder Pal who was facing trial u/s 36/376 RPC (kidnap and rape) sought enlargement on bail preliminary on the ground that he had contracted marriage with the prosecutrix out of her free will and her consent.

According to the statement of prosecutrix recorded u/s 164-A Cr PC on April 7, 2009 she was proceeding towards Gandhi Nagar when the accused came across her at Gurah Morh Bakshi Nagar and prevailed upon her to accompany him to the abode of Baba, to alleviate financial hardship of her family. In her statement she said that the accused was Guru of her parents so she agreed to accompany him and accepted the Parshad offered by him. Then they boarded a matador and after she found herself at Pathankot from there she was taken to various places and ultimately she was taken to Vherthi where accused got a room on rent and kept her in the rented room. She alleged that accused had sexually intercourse with her several times and was threatened to keep mum. Accused had a mobile phone and one day she got the same and rang up her aunt. Finally police recovered her from the clutches of the accused May 23, 2009. JNF
