| Choudhary brothers seek directions for signing cheques during police custody | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 27- O an application filed by Choudhary brothers seeking direction to the Special Investigation Team to allow them to sign and issue cheques during police custody, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu today directed Incharge SIT to report in the application by November 30, 2009.
This application was filed through Advocate AH Bhat in which it has been submitted that the applicants, alleged accused in Amadeep murder case, are in police custody and lodged in police lock-up of SIT in P/S Gandhi Nagar. The petitioners are businessmen and in some cases are partners in various firms which are duly recognized and registered by the competent authorities. It has been alleged in the application that SIT authorities were not allowing them to sign and issue the legally permitted cheques and due to non-availability of financial resources, the business and families of the applicants are facing great hardships and prayed for issuance of direction for allowing the applications to sign and issue cheques during police custody.
