| Basantgarh people express gratitude to Azad and Omar | | | Early Times Report Basantgarh, Nov 28 A general meeting of residents of Basantgarh and adjoining villages was convened here today at Basantgarh helipad in which the locals residents of the area have expressed their gratitude to former Ghulam Nabi Azad for keeping road connectivity to Khaned, Mang and Punara villages. The residents expressed all gratitude to the Ex chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the present chief minister Omer Abdullah for extending the road connectivity in the area. Bihari Lal, Block Youth Congress President in his address informed in the recently-published list of approved PMGSY schemes, as many as 15 roads have been got approved for Ramnagar assembly segment. Manzur, prominent N.C., worker, A.R. Wani, local sarpanch, Abdul Latif, lecturer (retd.), Swaran Singh, President Baski Mandir Prabandhak Committee, Mangat Ram, Mohd. Siddique, Mohd. Ayub and others also have expressed their gratitude to Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah, R&B Minister and Member Parliament of the parliamentary constituency. The present people further sought the cooperation and indulgence of Azad and Omar in connecting the Basantgarh-Khaned road to Macchedi/Lohai-Malhar in Kathua district and start work on Dudu to Kailash road thereby create an effective road-links for the peoples of three districts separated from each other by geographical barriers. They also called for immediate finalization and starting of work on Ramnagar to Basantgarh road-upgradation project. The project is reliably learnt to be in final stages and the work on multi-crore project is being allotted to E.R.A. The speakers further demanded a Tehsil status for Basantgarh and provision of staff for schools and para-medical institutions of the area.
