| BJP joins MMS’s signature campaign to get justice for Anchal | | | Early Times Report Jammu Nov 28 The BJP today came in support to the signature campaign initiated by Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti (MMS) over the issue of custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma to get justice for bereaved family and against govt’s inaction to book the alleged culprits. BJP activists led by President Rajesh Gupta joined the signature campaign initiated by MMS by saying that Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti Core Committee Members have started a signature campaigns in Jammu for the past few days and the party has decided to support the Manch to garner public support against the attitude of the government and mount pressure on it to wake up and take action against those responsible for custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma who was allegedly killed by the police in Kashmir. Members pointed out that a Jammu youth married a Muslim girl some three months ago in Arya Samaj Mandir according to the Hindu rituals. ‘Before soleminising marriage, the girl had changed her religion and embraced Hindu religion as per her wishes. Moreover, both the boy and the girl were adult at the time of marriage and could legally take this decision, rajesh Gupta said. He alleged that Rajneesh Sharma was picked from his Jammu residence in connivance with the Jammu police at the behest of the relatives of the girl and was taken to Srinagar and locked in Ram Munshi Bagh Police station, where he was tortured which resulted into his killing there. ‘The government has failed to take any action against the guilty police officers of Srinagar and Jammu, he said. BJP leaders and activists including Shiv Kumar Gupta, Balbir Ram, Ramesh Sharma, Lalit Sharma, Naresh Pradhan, Sunil Dogra, Anil Masoom, Dwarka Nath, Pardeep Langeh, Ram Prashad, Vikrant Singh, Arun Sethi and Sunny Sehgal had organised this signature campaign.
