| Pak using official channels to smuggle terrorists, incriminating materials: PK | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 28- Expressing serious concern over the reported moves of the Pakistan government to use official channels of people to people contact between the two countries to smuggle terrorists and incriminating materials, Panun Kashmir has said that the recent seizure of a satellite phone from a person coming from across the LoC with a valid passport and travel permit is a serious matter. Addressing a corner meeting at Talab Taboo here today, Panun Kashmir leaders, including its president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo and Virender Raina national spokesperson, said the manner in which the satellite phone was sought to be smuggled into India shows a well organized activity that has been going on ever since the people to people contact was initiated between the two countries, they said and added that this vindicates the stand of Panun Kashmir in this regard. It has become quite evident that a significant number of people who use the bus service between the two countries are being exploited by the ISI as couriers for anti-India and subversive acts. The government of India needs to keep a close vigil and watch at the people to people contact points so that such activities are nipped in the bud and the contact channels are not misused for ulterior objectives, PK leaders suggested. Endorsing the views of Kamal Bhagati, a senior leader of PK, Virender Raina in his address said Panun Kashmir has also taken a serious note of the delay in the process of the recruitment package for the displaced community youth as promised by the government a number of times. Panun Kashmir demands that the employment package with age relaxation be implemented with out any further delay along with the enhancement of relief which has become very essential keeping in view the current price index. The youth of the community have been denied their right to livelihood all these years and they continue to suffer for lack of attention to their woes, he said. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President in his address said that PK will continue to guard the ideological contours of Homeland from any fissiparous and expedient tendencies. No situation shall deter us from our commitments in this regard. The measures of the government are inadequate to make resettlement of the displaced community in Kashmir a possibility, he added. He said regional and geopolitical situation has made it imperative that a separate homeland in Kashmir is the only solution to the aspirations of half a million Kashmiri Pandit refugees. The demand of a separate homeland is based upon our experiences of the last seven hundred years of living in Kashmir. The establishment of a separate homeland in Kashmir for the displaced community would also go a long way in securing the restive northern frontiers of the country.
