| SRTC employees urge Azad to intervene to break impasse | | Protest continues outside Lal Qila in Delhi | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 29- Exposing all the tall claims made by the state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while interacting with media persons over the issue of ending 96- day long strike and releasing their salaries, SRTC Workers Union Chairman SA Kuchay on Sunday said, "we will continue to protest in Delhi till leaders of the state sitting outside Jammu and Kashmir do not sort out the issue agitating SRTC employees".
Camping in New Delhi for last two days and holding protest demonstration outside Lal Qila, the SRTC employees leader over telephone said that they have urged former chief minister and union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to intervene in the matter and address their concerns at the highest level with Government of India so that they are given their due share.
Today we met Ghulam Nabi Azad and apprised him with our demands. He gave us an assurance that he would take up their demands at the appropriate level to find a solution, Kuchay claimed.
Meanwhile as the strike of SRTC employees is approaching 100 day it is becoming difficult for the families of the employees to sustain their basic house hold expenditure in the absence of monthly salaries.
A SRTC worker who has not missed even a single day of dharna outside Bikram chowk office said that only we know how we are running our kitchen fires in the absence of salaries yet no one in the state government is paying heed to our miseries. |
