| MIET organizes series of activities to celebrate Communal Harmony Week | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 29- A series of activities including visit to Mother Teresa Home, poetry recitation, fund raising, symposium and group songs were conducted to celebrate Communal Harmony week at MIER College of Education.
The celebration of the week was started form of a formal function organized for the distribution of tickets for fund raising. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Vice-Principal of the college Dr. Adit Gupta, Dr. Surinder Kaur, Administrator, the faculty members and all B. Ed. students witnessed the program with great interest.
A group of 45 students were taken to visit Mother Teresa Home, Janipur by NSS program officer Poonam Soni. A camp was also organized for the inmates of the Home for having their medical checkup by the medical team of the college. The volunteers also interacted with the residents of the Home and made a pleasant atmosphere by organizing some enjoyable activities and performances in the form of some cultural activities.
The celebration of the Communal Harmony Week ended with a formal valedictory function in the college. A symposium was organized on the topic ‘Role of Education in National Integration’ in which 10 students participated. Dr. Renu Gupta appreciated the team of NSS program officer and volunteers for organizing such activities and further guided them to make it a value in their life. Dr. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman, MIER congratulated and blessed the volunteers for their appreciable efforts put in for celebrating the communal harmony week |
