| Sham, Chib, Bhalla lay foundation of PHC Rathana | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30-As part of coalition government’s endeavour to reach out to the people of the State at their doorsteps, a mega public darbar was organised at Sai in R. S. Pura today in which Minister for Health, Floriculture and Horticulture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib and Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla heard the grievances of the public from the border belt.
MLA Suchetgarh, Mr. Sham Choudhary, MLA R. S. Pura, Prof. Gharu Ram, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. M. K. Dwivedi, SDM, R. S, Pura, Mrs. Sheetal Nanda and other officers of district administration accompanied the Ministers.
During the darbar, people of put forth their problems including, functioning of PHC Sai, lack of adequate staff, sports stadium in Sai, regularisation of refugee basties, bank loan facilities to 1965 and 1971 refugees at par with 1947 refugees, mine compensation, irrigation facilities at the tail end, repair of lift irrigation pumps, dedication of Sai Receiving Station, maintenance of Nikowal-Sai, Sai Kalan-Devigarh, Raipur-Samka and Sai Bullay Chak roads etc.
Responding to the demands of public, The Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma announced Rs. 8 lakh for purchase of ambulance for PHC, Sai. Regarding X-ray machine, he said that 100 mm machine would be provided to the hospital by March 2010. He said that Government is upgrading the health infrastructure in the rural areas to reduce the load of the patients to the main referral units in the capital cities.
In his address, Mr. Chib said that coalition Government is fully aware of the problems of the people and organization of such public darbars is a step in this direction. He said that equitable development of the State is the top priority of the Government. He said that Centre has provided liberal funds for development schemes in the State, adding that there is no constraint of funds in completing the ongoing development projects in the State within stipulated time frame.
Mr. Chib asked the R&B department to immediately start the construction work of Sai-Bullay Chak, PHC Sai-Bullay Chak and Devigarh- Nikowal roads for the convenience of the people. Regarding construction of receiving station at Sai, he asked the Power department to prepare an estimate for the purpose so that work can start soon.
Revenue Minister, Mr. Bhalla, interacting with the public said that all development works in the sub-division would be reviewed threadbare and lapses in execution of works would be dealt with seriously.
The Minister asked the Revenue Officers to work with zeal and dedication and expedite the disposal of revenue matters.
Regarding problems of 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees, Mr. Bhalla said that Central and State governments are aware of their hardships and every effort will be made to solve them at the earliest. He said that Government has declared two refugee basties in Bhour Camp and Gaddigarh as Abadideh. He said that Government has also enhanced the land deficiency compensation to Rs. 25000 per kanal to a maximum of Rs. 1.25 lakh for up to 5 kanals of land.
The Minister directed the Revenue Department to immediately release the funds for construction of Niabat, complex at Dablehar.
Earlier, the Ministers laid the foundation stone of Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Rathana to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 123.16 lakh by R&B department. They also visited PHC, Sai in R. S Pura and inspected its various wards.
The Health Minister hoped that the construction of PHC, Rathana will reduce the rush of patients from R. S. Pura and other border areas to the secondary and tertiary health centres in Jammu.
