| Bhalla inaugurates Community Hall at Muthi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla on Monday inaugurated a community hall at Muthi, completed at a cost of Rs. 6 lakh by the Relief Department. MLC, Mr. Vijay Bakaya, Relief Commissioner, Mr. Vinod Koul, Joint Director Education, Jammu and others senior officers of Relief and Rehabilitation Department were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhalla said that the community hall will facilitate the Kashmiri migrants in organising functions there. He said that Centre and State Governments are making all out efforts to provide basic amenities to the displaced families of the valley, adding that the migrant colonies are being equipped by all modern civic amenities. For proper rehabilitation of displaced families of Valley, the Minister said that Government is setting up a mini township at Jagti comprising of 4224 flats in 176 blocks, spread over 716 kanals of land. The entire project is being implemented at a cost of Rs. 294 crore, he added. He said that Government is making every effort to provide the migrant brethren a respectable place to live. He said that the township was envisaged keeping in mind the hardships faced by the migrants who have been uprooted from their birthplace. Responding to demand for construction of 12-additional rooms for students of Mixed Higher Secondary School, Camp, Roop Nagar, Muthi, Mr. Bhalla asked the Relief Commissioner to start the work on the proposed site soon, adding that Government has already sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh for the purpose. Regarding construction of playfield on 8 kanals, he asked the executing agency to complete all the formalities so that the work can be started immediately for the benefit of students.
