| Div Com for expediting land acquisition cases of army | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30 - Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened a high-level meeting of Army and Revenue authorities to review the disposal of land requisition and acquisition cases of security forces. The meeting was convened as a follow-up of the recently held Civil-Military Liaison meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. In the meeting, the cases of land requisition and acquisition were reviewed by the Divisional Commissioner and threadbare discussions were held on each land requisition and acquisition case. It was decided that the concerned Army officers will hold a meeting with their respective District Collectors on monthly basis to expedite the disposal of the land requisition and land acquisition cases. The Divisional Commissioner issued directions to the Revenue authorities to provide the latest revenue records /papers to the Army authorities immediately wherever required .He also asked the concerned authorities to expedite the payment of rentals to the land owners The Divisional Commissioner also urged that unless the land is properly requisitioned or acquired under law, the land owners should not be deprived from enjoying the fruits of his land. He further informed that all the land requisition and land acquisition cases will be cleared in a time bound and well coordinated manner, adding that he will be closely monitoring the progress in this regard. In the end of the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner asked the officers to remain in close contact with each other so that the necessary queries/issues can be addressed promptly and cases be expedited and disposed off in a time bound manner. He said that such meetings shall be convened on a regular basis in future with the concerned army authorities to resolve the land requisition and land acquisition cases. Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Mr .R. C. Sharma, ACR Kathua, Mr. S. K. Kapoor, ADC Jammu Mr. S. Sheikh from the revenue side and DEO, Jammu, Mr. Vivek Kumar Col. R.S. Narban, Col J. S. Badotra, Col Sanjeev Kumar, Col R.V. Singh and Col R. K. Mishra respectively from army authorities side .
