| Final year students of B. Tech. brings laurels to SMVDU | | | Early Times Report Katra Nov 30, The final year students of B. Tech. Industrial Biotechnology brought recognition and fame to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at National and International level. 18 students (Himanshu Singh, Ruby Pandey, Chirag Chopra, Anuj Raina, Radhika Khandelwal, Swati Trisal, Atul Sharma, Barneet Singh, Urvashi Baloria, Mowkshi Khullar, Ankita Magotra, Priyanka Mahajan, Vishawdeep Singh Jamwal, Vasundhara Sharma, Arunima Gupta, Swati Bajaj, Nihar Sharma and Gourav Modi) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University attended a national seminar titled “Scaling New Zeniths in Biosciences” held at HMV college , Jalandhar on 26th November and an “International Colloquium on Biotechnology” organized at DAV college Jalandhar from 27th-28th November. The whole event turned out to be a grand success for the university owing to the willingness and support of Prof. N. K. Bansal (Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU) and Dr. V. Verma (Director, School of Industrial Biotechnology) as well as the vision and motivation of Dr. Sharada M. Potukuchi. A first prize (Radhika Khandelwal) and three second prizes (Barneet singh, Vasundhara Sharma & Mowkshi Khullar) were bagged under B.Sc/B.Tech. and M.Sc. categories at the national seminar. To add to the essence and aura of this victory, three prizes were won at the “International Colloquium on Biotechnology” by Priyanka Mahajan, Vasundhara Sharma & Mowkshi Khullar for excellent poster presentation. In the upcoming era of Applied Biosciences, this achievement by the students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has ignited a revolution in this field and enlightened the minds of budding scientists. This success convincingly illustrates the potential and zeal of all students of Industrial Biotechnology as well as an encouragement to excel in all future endeavors
