| Shock in town: driver kills boss for Rs 30,000 | | |

Jammu, Nov 30: In a shocking incident, betraying faith and trust, an officer of the Department of Economics and Statistics has been allegedly done to death by his driver. Police said that driver has been arrested and has confessed to have committed the heinous crime.
Ashok Kumar Kichloo, a Deputy Director of Economic and Statistics department was brutally murdered by his own driver with the intention of looting cash and jewellary meant for his son’s marriage ceremony scheduled in next month.
The shocking yet dramatic incident occurred in late hours last night when deputy director of Economic and Statistics department namely Ashok Kitchloo son of Dina Nath Kitchloo with was wrongly informed by his personal driver identified as Chandan Bhan son of Manohar Lal resident of Prem Nagar that his other driver identified as Vinod had met with an accident and was struggling for life in GMC hospital.
On hearing this Deputy Director rushed out with his driver Chandan Bhan and on way Chanden Bhan who was equipped with sharp edged weapon beheaded the officer and threw his body in Nullaha nearby. The alleged murderer then came back to the deceased’s house with the intention to kill his wife. He took her to GMC hospital narrating false story of his husband’s accident. Playing trick on the way driver pretended that the vehicle had met with some technical problem so the woman rushed to hospital in a private vehicle. Till then the murderer after repairing vehicle reached back to the house and looted jewellery consisting of one gold ring, one chain and three watches valuing Rs 30,000 and then left towards hospital.
On reaching hospital lady did not find her husband and rang to her brother. In the meanwhile the murderer also reached in the hospital and informed her that her husband was admitted in Gandhi Nagar hospital but in the meanwhile her brother reached on the spot. They then proceed to the Gandhi Nagar hospital where once again murderer narrating false story informed them that his master has been discharged from hospital. After reaching home both brother and sister found everything in disordered. They then approached to Miran Sahib Police Station and narrated the entire story. A Police team led by SHO Paramjeet Singh while taking the cognizance of the matter conducted raid in the house of the murderer and arrested him. During interrogation he confessed crime and on his disclosure police recovered deceased’s body and stolen items. Police also seized the vehicle bearing registration number JK02AG, 4043 which was parked by murderer in bus stand and weapon of offence sharp edged knife (toka).
A police spokesman informed that the murderer was working with the deceased for the last three years and enjoyed full faith of deceased’s family. Deceased’s son identified as Sunny was going to be married on 11 December and taking advantage of looting money and jewellery he committed the heinous crime. However, police has registered a case under section 364,302 RPC against the culprit.
