| Display Your Talent 2009-10 | | Sidrat on first prize in poetry recitation contest | |

Jammu, Dec 1: Sidrat-ul-Muntaha of Government College for women, Parade was adjudged first in the intercollegiate/ departmental poetry recitation contest organized by the department of students welfare, university of Jammu under on going “Display Your Talent” 2009-10. Gagandeep Sharma from department of Law, University of Jammu and Harmeet Kour from GGM Science College (Morning), clinched the second and third prizes respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Ramakant Sahu from JK College of education, Rashmi Bhardwaj from Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education and Sapna Sharma from Cosmic college of Education, Lakhanpur.
Forty six students from the various teaching department of the University and its affiliated colleges recited self composed poems as well as the pieces of poetry of the reputed poets in Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and English.
Prof. Shashi Pathania, Dr. Parmeshwari Sharma and Betab Jaipuri were the adjudicators for the said event. The judges really had a tough time in selecting the best talent as their was ardent competition among the participants.
The competition was followed by an illuminated talk on Poetry by Prof. Shashi Pathania.
Prof. JS Tara dean students welfare distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
Dr. Anju Thapa, was the teacher incharge of the event.
The proceedings were conducted by Indu Bagal and Ankita Gupta while Joginder Singh acted as the time keeper.
The event was managed by Gurpal Singh, Balwant Singh Slathia, SS Bhalla, Madan Lal Sharma, Arun Kumar, Yash Paul and Rampal.
