Agitating agricultural technocrats calls on Mufti Sayeed
12/1/2009 10:53:50 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu Dec 1
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today assured the agitating agricultural technocrats that party would effectively take up their genuine demands in and outside the legislative assembly.
This assurance was given by former Chief Minister and patron of PDP Mufti Mohammad Sayed while interacting with a delegation of agricultural technocrats who called on him at his residence this morning.
Sayed assured the agitating technocrats that PDP would support their demands. He asked them to wait for December 5 as the agitating technocrats have given December 5 as dead line to the government to accept their demands.
Interacting with the former Chief Minister the delegation of the agitating technocrats informed that they were forced to launch the stir as coalition regime headed by National Conference has failed to fulfill its promises. They reminded that on July 31 this year, political advisory to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Mubarak Gul had promised to solve demands of the agricultural technocrats. It was only after assurance of Mubarak Gul the agitating agricultural technocrats had suspended their agitating on July 31. The delegation further informed that false promises the coalition regime has done nothing to solve their problems.
The delegation further informed that the Agriculture Minister had also announced on the floor of the Legislative Assembly that government would formulate a comprehensive policy to solve problems of those agricultural technocrats who have been engaged as Rehbar-e-Zierat. The delegation regretted that despite assurance on the floor of the House, government failed to take any step.
