| Minor girl raped, accused held | | |

Jammu Dec 1: Displaying high professionalism ,Jammu Police arrested one of the accused within shortest period of time who was being involved in a rape case of a minor girl committed in the wee hours of today at Chokichura under the jurisdiction of Police Station Aklhnoor .
In a bizarre incident, one minor girl was raped by a boy from the same locality and known to the family at Chokichura under the jurisdiction of Police Station Akhnoor during this intervening.
Reports said that one Nitya Nand r/o Chokichura lodged a complaint in Police Post Chokichura regarding that her minor girl was raped by some one during this intervening night when they were performing some ritual Jagratra on the eve of the superannuation of grandfather of the victim. Upon this Police Party rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to SDH Akhnoor for medical examination where from she was referred to SMGS hospital Jammu for specialized treatment. Senior Police officers directed the SDPO Akhnoor to nab the accused immediately and upon the directions of senior officers SDPO Aklhnoor camped in the Chokichura and picked up some suspected and rounded up for questioning . During questioning one of them broke down and confessed that he had done the heinous crime during the intervening taking the opportunity of Jagratra and unsuspecting confidence of her parents being a well known to the family of the victim. The accused has been identified as Davinder Singh alias Chotu s/o Sansar Singh r/o Chokichura. Accused arrested U/S 363,376,457 RPC and case FIR No. 233/09 stands registered at PS Akhnoor.
